ROMAN ARCHITECTURE
The architecture in Rome was magnificent. Romans built statues that still stand to this day. They built many buildings that have lead to great designs that we use today.
THE COLOSSEUM
One of their greatest structures was the Colosseum. It could hold 50,000 spectators and was built out of a material called concrete and the Romans used that to build tall and strong structures. It was a amazing creation of the Romans and one of their best. The Colosseum was built so that it could be flooded and hold big navel ships for dangerous battles. It also had thing were two humans and sometimes wild animals would battle two the death and this is how some slaves got there freedom.
AQUEDUCTS
Another breakthrough the Romans built was aqueducts. Aqueducts were big arches that help get fresh water to the parts of Rome.They let people have fresh water and take baths. Romans were best known for amount of water and their architecture.
CONCRETE
The creation of concrete was a huge architecture break through because Romans could build high strong and buildings that would last century's. Concrete was a mixture of stone,sand,cement and water. the reason they lasted so long was because the way the Romans angled them.
